The composition of the mural illustrates the unique way in which the Parkland Mall relates to it’s environment.  A silhouette of Parkland Mall is featured as the backdrop of the mural and includes the tagline “Parkland Mall – in the heart of the community”.  All other graphics are balanced by the way they relate to this central idea.

In the left foreground a graphic showing the hospital indicates the importance of the neighboring health care industry to the Parkland Mall.

In the right foreground a R.V. towing a boat demonstrates Parkland Mall’s key location at the junction of Highway #9 and #10 highways.

The central graphics of the mural illustrates the caring community activities, which take place within the Parkland Mall.  This is the key to the mural concept as clearly illustrates the unique way in which the Parkland Mall “gives back” to it’s community.  The emotional appeal rendered in a warm and painterly style to establish a visual connection and a reminder to build on customer loyalty “Parkland Mall – in the heart of the community – with the community at heart”.

Center left tableau shows a freeze frame from the Close Cuts for cancer which takes place annually at the Parkland Mall.

Center graphic features the Farmers Market.  The rural community blends in with urban as they exchange their wares.  This also demonstrates the rural area that the Parkland Mall serves.

The right background depicts a rancher out feeding chop to his cattle behind a split rail fence.  This scene blends into brilliant Prairies sunset which backdrops the Parkland Mall silhouette.

Left background graphic features large factory style buildings to represent industry and it’s connection to agriculture, the community and the Parkland Mall.  Collectively the visual graphic tell a story of how people in the community interact in this century’s village square, the mall, that is Parkland Mall.
